    Description

    Penn State University and PA Campus Compact organized a colloquium to feature research that highlights the intersection of civic engagement issues, community engagement practice, and sustainability. The colloquium served as a vehicle to share experiences in public scholarship across campuses and organizations. Among the thematic issues the colloquium explored topics related to: civic participation and non-participation, sustainability, social justice, storytelling and dialogue, and power. Of equal interest were narratives of practice, stories from the field that highlight democratic engagement initiatives and projects in such areas as, but not restricted to, community economic development and empowerment housing community health and nutrition educational partnerships and reform.
