Main research question/goal

The main objective of this research is to increase the genetic diversity within the genus Geranium by either breeding or alternative breeding techniques in order to select new pre-breeding material with high ornamental value.


 


Research approach

The aim is to develop pre-breeding material by use of in-vitro breeding techniques, that can be used in later breeding to develop a new assortment of plants. 


Relevance/Valorisation

Geranium is a perennial with a good potential to be used in bee-friendly, biodiverse gardens.
