Abstract

Spray drift is defined as the quantity of applied product –representing an active ingredient of a pesticide- which is deflected from the treated area by the action of air currents during the application process. The deposition of pesticides outside the target field can have negative effects on the health of humans and animals, and can also damage sensitive adjoining crops.
The purpose of this research was to assess spray drift damage for ten major crops in Flanders, Belgium.
