    Abstract

In this chapter, Dessein aims to understand and illustrate the process of territorialisation, with a focus on practices. He analyses coinciding rural development actions that take a natural resource (in casu saffron) as a catalyst for regional development. Drawing on empirical research on saffron cultivation in Morocco, he combines neo-endogenous development and co-production in a framework that distinguishes between ‘weak’ and ‘strong’ territorialisation.
