Uittreksel
As climate change persists, agriculture in coastal regions is faced with aggravating salinization. This book chapter provides an overview of salinity occurrence in the North Sea Region (Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Norway, United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Sweden) and aims to identify knowledge gaps for developing a strategy for adaptation to salinization. Due to a lack of quantitative, comparable data on salinity across the region, this book chapter presents an exploration of salinization in the region, rather than a comprehensive review of every country. The study distinguishes four salinization pathways: four salinization pathways: (1) irrigation, (2) aerosol, (3) flood and (4) seepage salinization.
