Uittreksel

Co-creation and participation are on the rise in both policy making as well as academic research. This book chapter argues that the development of saline agriculture requires co-creation and, by extension, that research on saline agriculture must be embedded in a participatory process. The book chapter discusses the “architecture” of the International Farmers’ Cafe on Salinization and Saline Agriculture to provide a source of inspiration for future participatory research on saline agriculture. Moreover, the book chapter illustrates the added value of participatory research by highlighting some of the insights that were acquired in the event.
