Uittreksel

The genetic diversity within autochthonous and introduced populations of oaks (Quercus petraea and Quercus robur) is studied. The AFLP-technique is used to analyse approximately 1000 oaks and study the diversity present. Techniques of DNA extraction and AFLP analysis are optimised. Through statistical analysis of the genetic similarities the diversity within natural and introduced populations will be compared. Data analysis of a similar project on genetic diversity of azalea is presented, including calculation of similarity indices, multivariate analysis and AMOVA.
