variablesandasecondmodelusingbothbasicandthenewgaitinconsistencyvariables.
The secondmodelusingthegaitinconsistencyvariablesoutperformedthemodelbased
on onlybasicgaitvariablesbyfarindetectingthemildlylamecowswithasensitivityof
88% andaspecificityof87%.Theseresultssupportthesuggestionofincorporatingsuch
gait inconsistencyvariablesintolamenessdetectionmodels.Furthervalidationofthese
gait inconsistencyvariablesshouldbeinvestigatedusinglongitudinalstudieswherecows
